Eric received the hommage bénévolat award at Québec on Avril 27th, 2017 at the National Assembly for his involvment into the community.

Eric Frechette is involved in Les Petits Chanteurs de Laval since October 2004. He was president of the organization from 2011 to 2018. This organization oversees the Little Singers of Laval (choir of 120 boys), Les Voix Boréales (choir of 130 girls) and Le Choeur des Jeunes de Laval (mixted choir of 50 young adults).
This organization, in existence for 37 years, performs all around Quebec and internationally.

Eric Frechette also chaired Le Club Richelieu Laval from 1995 to 2018, and has been the President in 1998.
For 18 years, he has been responsible of the annual fundraising dinner. Every year, this event generates funds of $50,000 for the charitable causes. Eric is still an active member of Le Club Richelieu Laval.
